“I have always loved minerals and have collected museum quality geodes and rocks to decorate my home,” laughs Connie Lang, President and founder of Paul Mitchell Ohio, “But when David Mathews, a local artist and Minister of the Gospel from Zanesville, Ohio, proposed to me that he wanted to place some of his rock art around my building I never imagined what he had in mind!” “David welded the frame of this piece, poured cement into the frame then laid the beautiful rocks which he gathers from every state in the USA in the cement. David can tell you where every stone came from and what kind of mineral it is. He goes around the country in his truck gathering rocks from every state and preaching. He hung this extremely heavy piece with our forklift all by himself one sunny afternoon and I feel as though I have the most beautiful and special wall hanging in the world on my building!” says Connie.

This is what it looks like when you call our 800 number! It’s a beautiful big room with nine phone stations, postage meters, sales staff’s mailboxes, fax machine, file cabinets and everyone’s private space is personalized by them with their families photos, personal artwork and even the humorous sexy Awapuhi farmer named Jose who sits on Billi’s desk! The Customer Service office room is carpeted and has insulated walls to cut down on noise when the phones go wild which happens daily in the afternoon. What most people don’t realize is how much the Customer Service people have to know! They have to know all products, how they work, out of stocks, all education events, all product item numbers, be a great accurate typist, know all company policies, know all of our 6.000 customers, be really nice even when someone is being rude, support the sales people and much, much more! It takes a talented multi tasking individual to do this job and we believe we have the best of the best here at PM Ohio! Want to see more photos?

Every year we do something as a company just for fun. In the past we have done a day at the Columbus Zoo, big cookouts, boat rides at Buckeye Lake, a retreat at Mohican State Park with a questionable “talent” show……but last summer we all went camping together at Dillon state Park. It was great as we all got to meet everyone’s spouses, children and even their dogs! Everyone brought their tents, campers and RV’s and had a blast! We had campfires, played world class Corn Hole, bicycling, listened to music, played cards, shared lots of fun stories and in general had a great time. Best of all, Mike and Connie did most of the grilling and cooking and served all of their wonderful employees as they felt it was their turn to enjoy and relax. It will be really hard next year to come up with a better idea for fun! Check out our cool slideshow!
