Paul Mitchell Ohio Inc. was founded as Southeastern Salon Suppliers Inc. in 1981 (renamed Paul Mitchell Ohio Inc. in January of 2007) by Connie Warren, now Connie Lang, a third generation hairstylist. Connie owned salons for twenty years before the opportunity to be the “Paul Mitchell Distributor” came, she wanted her business to be different from the “Need anything today?” style of distribution that was prevalent in 1981. It was different from day one! Being the first female Distributor in the country she went on the road opening fifteen salons in a city at a time and hiring a Sales Person to take over the tiny humble start to grow it. Many of her competitors called her and wished her “luck!” telling her that she would never survive this tough business. She never let her salespeople interrupt a Salon Owner when working on a client or ever become the “deal of the month” people. Her idea of doing business was to respect clients first, be their silent business partners by helping Salon Owners grow their businesses with Education, consultation, helping with Staff Meetings, doing their inventory control and most of all being deeply honest. She wanted everything that she didn’t get as a Salon Owner.

Paul Mitchell Ohio Inc. is now 28 years old and growing in double digit numbers. Last year (2007) Paul Mitchell Ohio Inc. cut off $750,000 ($1.5MM at retail level) worth of “questionable” business, made it up and still had a double digit increase in business last year. The company covers Ohio and West Virginia, sells only to licensed Professional Hair Salons and Stylists, does almost a thousand In Salon Classes, three Hair Camps, and sixteen Advanced Academies a year and dominates the Mid American Beauty Classic by bringing in the top Stars and names in the business.
